Early commerce in New Zealand from the 1790s to the 1850s included both barter and the use of coins from a range of countries. The first paper money arrived with the Europeans. by Johannah Mateo& Sanaya Chauhan

Hello Readers,

My name is Johannah, And today my class is learning about history of money! I did this with my buddy and I think we did really well because our work was very neat, As you can see in each slides there were a lot of different money from the past which was quite cool because back then New Zealand money use paper and now they use plastic because? Paper is easier to rip and it can get wet and broken when you accidentally drop it in the water but plastic are very strong but they get still get stolen or get blown by the wind and its also not easy to rip because it is made out of plastic, but this modern year people barely use notes to pay they use card, apple pay, phone transaction which is easier to pay. I think making this was really fun because you get to learn about New Zealand money! I think this work is the best  I’ve made this year. The hard part was taking screenshot of the New Zealand notes because I get confused which one to put in each slides, the easy part was blogging this!

Please comment. Bye!

Dear Tara,

I wrote this letter to let you know I want to say thank you for always helping us in the activities. Thank you for being active when people in teams are needing help.

At Living Springs there were a lot of activities like boulder wall, archery, swimming, air rifles, animal survival. The food was delicious. There was ice cream, nachos, fruits, burgers and fries.

On the boulder wall I really felt nervous and scared and my heart was pounding and I could not look and my acraphobia suddenly kicked in but after a minute I felt really confident and cheered up because of my teammates. Air rifles were really boring, the reason is we only did shooting stuff but we did have a competition  which was fun because you got to compete against other people. I also love how you help us reload and help shoot the targets . Eating time was my favourite because you get to eat delicious foods and dessert was the best!

What was your favourite part of camp?

Kind regards

Johannah

Reading Week 7

Hello Readers, This week we have  been learning about descriptive language words that add detailed stories so we can picture it better in our heads. Descriptive words also help readers connect through emotive language. The story we are learning about today is ” Market Gaps and Muddy Tyres”  The school bike track was an orchestra of chaos. Squealing brakes and the rhythmic thud of sneaker created a constant hum. Members of the enviro group were busy planting near the fence, while the road patrol team finished their shift, looking exhausted but satisfied. Anika, a keen observer noticed a stark problem. The bike track was Fantastic, but it was treacherous when dusty. Riders were coming off the track with grimy hands and parched lips. She brainstormed a solution The ” Refuel and Refresh ” station. She worked meticulously with her whanau to create a portable Kit. It featured reusable bamboo cups and chilled infusion of mint and lemon when she opened for trade, the aromatic scent of mint danced through the air, beckoning tired riders. By identifying what the community lacked, Anika turned a barren patch of grass into a thriving hub of commerce.

Design by Johannah Mateo

Hello Readers,

Today we are publishing our work  because we are finished. Today we are creating A drawing out of the sentence in the top of the box its like were imagining about pictures that are connected to the sentence, For me my drawing was really nice of course in my opinion the one I really like was very obvious its “The fish swam”, I really like how I detailed it so good but I don’t know if you can see the sunset in the background because I accidentally blend it with the colour I was using. The other one was also gorgeous but the only thing I don’t like is the people I draw It was bad but okay.

I have one question do you like my drawing?

Please comment on my blog post, Bye!

My pizza business

My pizza by Johannah Mateo

Hello Readers,

Today we are making our own pizza business it was really fun and focusing I really liked how I designed everything and the thing I don’t like about it is that it was really hard to put the prices and really need more focus on it but I think I did pretty well! Have you ever made a pizza because it is really fun to make.

Bye! please leave a comment, and I hope you liked my blog!

After the fire

Hello Readers,

Today we were learning about A story called ” After the fire” it was a really good story and interesting to read with your class I think the main character was Joe,

Ill tell you about the story in the beginning,

Joe was a young man that lives in a small town with his mum he had a great day but then a fire has started without any warning for the towns people he was very worried about the people around him mostly his mum after a minute they both went to a rescue centre the air wasn’t very smoky but the helicopters still roam around the city like crazy looking for and flakes that is going to start a fire any sooner the fire they are very lucky that they have survived the fire and Joe understands how sad it is to loose something valuable. After A few weeks Joe visits his pet Albert which is an alpaca,

He went to the rescue centre and made a new kind friend named Sadia. Sadia told her a lot of story that happened after the fire had started it was very amazing that Joe listened the whole time Sadia told him that her grandparents had lost everything in the flood in Bangladesh, but since they are lucky they survive the flood safely.

This helps Joe understand that being safe and together is what really matters.

I liked this story because even if disaster came it make us strong and stay positive! This was A sad story but it had a light ending!

Please leave comment Bye! Johannah
